gOS–a company known for its debut in the US$199 Wal-Mart gPC and Netbooks–announced the details of gOS 3 Gadgets, the newest version of its Linux OS for consumers.The main feature of gOS 3 Gadgets is its ability to instantly launch Google Gadgets for Linux on start-up, allowing users access to more than 100,000 Google Gadgets applications.

gOS 3 Gadgets Beta Released | Just Plain Tech

I’ve been using this beta on one of my testing laptops and I’ve been very impressed thus far. Installation was a snap, just like Ubuntu. Give it a shot if you like Google’s stuff.

If you haven’t heard of gOS yet then you’re missing out. Its an Ubuntu based version of Linux that relies heavily on Google products. The “g†in gOS doesn’t stand for Google though, it stands for “Goodâ€, don’t get confused and think that Google makes it, because they don’t. It comes pre-installed on those cheap Everex computers that Walmart sells. Read on after the jump to find out more.
