Dyna Mini Ape Handle Bar Recall.

Harley Davidson Motor Company is in the midst of a LARGE recall of ALL 2006 & 2007′ (07’s produced up until November of 2006) FXDWG (Dyna Wide Glide?) OEM 1 1/4″ handlebars (a.k.a. the “mini apes” – approximately 10″ high & 50 state legal).
This recall was announced at the end of last year (However, not a lot of press was seen mind you)
It seems the the tubing wall was not thick enough and since these bars are drilled for the internal wiring, some have been compromised. apparently causing lethal situations. They cracked “big time” from the hole at the base of the bars, between the underside the clamps.
The OEM part number is 59782-06
The new updated version have the part number 59782-06A.
