What can be done to salvage our country?

by on Oct.21, 2006, under Political

I read this online in a blog post by Brent Hatley. I voted for Bush but really feel the Republicans have let us down. I believe I am a Libertarian and have been for about 3 years. I will vote that way in the next presidential election. Check is our if you are interested. http://www.lp.org

Brent Hatley:
This week a caller asked me on the air what I thought could be done to salvage our country. He stated he gets what we are saying about being headed down the wrong path. The short answer is the Libertarian Party.

I suggested that in 2008 if the Libertarian Candidate got 5% of the Presidential Election the Federal Government by law in 2012 would have to split the Federal matching funds three ways instead of two. That is a good possibility in 2008. There are plenty of non evangelical Republicans who are just as disgusted as the rest of us. There are plenty of Democrats who are equally disgusted with the jellyfish spine of their party.

Recently in Connecticut Representative Chris Shays (R) and challenger Diane Farrell (D) spent time arguing about which party was more corrupt to which the Libertarian Party candidate Phil Maymin stated ”There has not been a single Libertarian congressman involved in any!” The roar of applause was overwhelming. It begs the question why not give Libertarians a chance? It surely can’t be any worse than the corrupt, morally bankrupt group currently running the country. If there is a Libertarian running and you are able to I invite you to vote for that individual for the sake of saving what liberties we have left.
